COAT COLOR

Black Head Tri Color (BHT) corgis have Black, Tan, & White Colors. BHT's have lots of black color, more black than red. Black Head Tri Colors will have black coloring on top of their head, across their ears, and around their eyes. A BHT will also have tan markings. Please see above for examples of BHT color corgis. 

Red Head Tri Color (RHT) corgis have Tan, Black & White Colors. RHT's have lots of red color, more red than black. Red Head Tri colors will have red coloring on top of their head, across their ears, and around the eyes.  Please see above for examples of RHT color corgis. 

Red color corgis can come in a variety of red shades with no obvious black hairs showing. Red color corgis are typically the most common & popular. Please see above for examples of red color corgis. 

Sable color corgis come in a variety of red shades, with obvious dark or black hairs showing on their withers, head, base of tail, and/or along shoulder blade lines.  Please see above for examples of sable color corgis. 

Mismarked color corgis are described by the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America as, "Mismarks: Self colors with any area of white on back between withers and tail, on sides between elbows and back of hindquarters, or on ears. Black with white markings and not tan present. 

Bluie color corgis can come in BHT, RHT, Sable, and even Red Colors. A Bluie color corgi means that they carry two copies of the d locus gene. The d locus gene is the gene that dilutes the pigmentation of fur. They have a gunmetal blue/grey hue or a Smokey, dusty color. We currently only have RHT bluie or BHT bluie color corgis. 

Blue Merle color corgis are Black Head Tri or Red Head Tri Corgis with the Merle pattern. Merle color corgis have mottled patches of color in a solid or piebald coat. Merle color can only come in a Cardigan Welsh Corgi or in what is referred to as an "American Corgi". An American corgi is a mix between the Pembroke welsh & Cardigan welsh corgi. You can get the Pembroke build with the beautiful merle color.  

There is also such thing as BLUIE Merle colored corgis. Where they have the merle pattern and the diluted pigmentation of fur. We do not have any of those in our breeding program as of now.
